Realistic Fiction

Setting  Most of the book takes place at a Hollywood movie studio in Los Angeles, CA  Other parts in the book take place in a grey stoned mansion in a private estate in Westchester, NY  Mostly during the day

Characters  Claire - the girl-next-door that has to work hard to maintain her reputation with the popular crowd.  Massie – the alpha(leader) of the popular crowd (Pretty Committee) and is adored by everyone.  Alicia – Massie’s right hand gal and is unbelievably beautiful with her gorgeous exotic look.  Dylan – this red-headed girl is always on a diet and is one of the popular girls in the group.  Kristen – she’s poor and her parents have her on academic lockdown so that she can keep her scholarship to the private school the girls attend, Octavion Country Day.

Plot – Problem or Conflict  When the girls are invited to Dylans mother’s tv show studio, they run into a big Hollywood movie director and get invited to audition for his latest movie, Dial L for Loser, but only 3 get to go to audition and only 1 of those 3 get the part.

Plot - Resolution  The 2 girls who didn’t get the part( Alicia and Massie) are offered by Dylan’s mother to be on-the-scene reporters for the movie.

My Opinion  I loved this book! This was the 6 th book in the Clique series and I’ve also read the ones before this one and loved them. This is my favorite book series. Cant wait for the next one!!!

About the Author  Lisi Harrison (Elise Harrison) created and developed shows for MTV.  She lives in New York City (that’s all I could find about her)

5 Test Questions  Who is your favorite character and why?  Who was the most humble during this whole experience?  If you were Kristen, how would you react if your friends got to audition for a movie while you stayed home and study?  If you were Claire would you also over obsess over your boyfriend?  Why do you think the author wrote this book?

Summary  This book is about 3 girls who go to Hollywood to audition for a movie. Only one gets the part. Meaning only one gets to stay in Hollywood. It ends up being the least popular of the 3 and later has to make a big choice.
