 PRESIDENT ONLY IN 1994

 “I have walked that long road to freedom. I have tried not to falter; I have made missteps along the way. But I have discovered the secret that after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. I have taken a moment here to rest, to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me, to look back on the distance I have come. But I can only rest for a moment, for with freedom come responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not ended.”  ― Nelson Mandela

 FOUNDER OF THE SHANDUKA GROUP  MCDONALDS

Soichiro Honda: The billion-dollar business that is Honda began with a series of failures and fortunate turns of luck. Honda was turned down by Toyota Motor Corporation for a job after interviewing for a job as an engineer, leaving him jobless for quite some time. He started making scooters of his own at home, and spurred on by his neighbors, finally started his own business. (58)Soichiro Honda

Colonel Sanders was 65 years old when he received his first social security cheque of $99. He was broke, and owned a small house and a beat up car. He made a decision that he has got to change. The only idea he had was a chicken recipe, which his friends liked. With that idea in mind, he took massive action. He left his home in Kentucky and traveled to many states in the US to sell his idea. He told the restaurant owners that he had a chicken recipe that people liked and he was giving it to them for free. What he wanted in return was for the restaurant owners to pay him a small percentage on the pieces of chicken sold. He got rejections after rejections, but did not give up. In fact, he got over 1000 rejections. He got 1009 no’s before he got his first yes. With that one success Colonel Hartland Sanders changed the eating habits of the whole world with Kentucky Fried Chicken, popularly known as KFC. How many of us will keep knocking on doors when we have received 1000 rejections? I presume not many! This is why there are not many successes like Colonel Sanders. Age is no barrier to success, and so is capital. What is needed is an idea put into action, followed with proper planning and persistency.

Bill Gates: Gates didn't seem like a shoe-in for success after dropping out of Harvard and starting a failed first business with Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen called Traf-O-Data. While this early idea didn't work, Gates' later work did, creating the global empire that is Microsoft. (23)Bill Gates

Thomas Edison: In his early years, teachers told Edison he was "too stupid to learn anything." Work was no better, as he was fired from his first two jobs for not being productive enough. Even as an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. Of course, all those unsuccessful attempts finally resulted in the design that worked. (30)Thomas Edison

 1.A winner makes commitments.  A loser makes promises  2.A winner says. "lets find out."  A loser says, "nobody knows."  3. A winner sees the answer in every problem.  A loser sees a problem in every answer.  4. A winner says, "I will!" and then suceeds  A loser says, "I'll try" and fails.  5. A winner is not afraid to be wrong.  A loser has a compulsive need to be "right."  6. A winner believes that we make our own "luck," either through what we do or what we fail to do.  A loser believes in "bad luck."

 7. A winner is not afraid to lose.  A loser is secretly afriad of winning.  8. Winners do it NOW!  Losers procratinate.  9. A winner knows that the secret to winning is to be who you are and become who you were meant to be.  A loser thinks he can win by "fitting in."  10. A winner says: "It may be difficult, but it's possible!"  A loser says: "It maybe possible, but it's too difficult."

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the roads you’re trudging seem all uphill, When the funds are low and debts are high, And you want to smile but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down quite a bit Rest if you must, but don’t quit. For life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about, When he might have won if he’d stuck it out.
