Dear friends, After school I play travel basketball. We run a lot and do practice drills like shooting the ball into a basket and dribbling. Then we have to dribble through cones and shoot from the foul line. We also practice passing. It is very tiring and we put a lot of work into are practices and games. Next I play travel soccer. I don't run as much in soccer then basketball. We have to take the ball with are feet and shoot it into the back of the net. If there was a through in you have to hit it with your foot, head, or chest. Finally the other thing I do is work with a tutor. She comes on Thursdays. Dear Friend, Hi I'm Jenny.I'm a third grader at Woodside School. After school I usually have travel soccer. I'm on the Arsenal team. I have practice on Wednesdays and Fridays and a game on Sunday. The equipment I use is a soccer ball, a goal, cones, and a uniform or a piney. You always need a soccer ball when you play soccer. You need a goal to shoot in. You need cones to practice with. And a uniform or a piney to show what team your on. I also practice piano on Mondays its fun because sometimes he lets me pick my own songs. I use a piano, piano lesson books, and my fingers. I use piano books so I can see what I'm playing. I just tried out for the indoor travel soccer team and I made the team! I have practice on Mondays and Saturdays. Dear friend, Hi, I’m Samantha and I’m a third grader at Woodside School in New Jersey. One thing I do after school on Wednesday’s is Sign Language Club. We learn how to sign songs. We use a CD player. We also use props like sunglasses, train hats, scarves, and the most important thing is our hands. I enjoy Sign Language Club. Another thing I do on Saturday is karate. Dear Friend, Hi my name is Lauren and I am a third grader at Woodside School. After school I do many activities. One of them is Brownies. I go once a month on Wednesday. It usually takes place in the school library, but sometimes we go on trips. We have gone cooking, apple picking, to the Girl Scout council, and had a fashion show. There is also a father daughter dance and a mother daughter dance and a Halloween party. In March we sell cookies and get prizes according to how many cookies we sell. My mom is the cookie mom. I like doing Brownies! Another after school activity is dance. I take four classes. They are ballet, tap, jazz and hip- hop, because I made the dance team. Ballet is on Tuesday. You need to wear leotard, pink tights, either black shorts or a skirt and ballet shoes. For ballet you do lots of things on the bar. Jazz is my first class on Thursday. You need to wear comfortable clothes, and jazz shoes. We do kicks on the bar. Tap is my second class on Thursday. We wear the same clothes that we wear for jazz, but we wear tap shoes. Our warm up is toe taps. Hip-hop is my last class on Thursday. We just change our shoes in to hip-hop shoes. Hip-hop is like jazz. I have the same teacher for ballet, jazz and tap. Her name is Jess. My teacher for hip-hop is Sammy. Dance is so much fun! My last activity is Hebrew School. I go there because I am Jewish. I learn about my religion. It is two hours long, and on Tuesday and Sunday. My teachers on Sunday are Morah Zehava and Morah Shiran. My teachers on Tuesday are Morah Zehava and Morah Barbra. I have two friends at Hebrew School. They are Dalya and Rebecca. There are 17 people in my class.13 of them are boys. Morah means teacher. Hebrew School on Tuesday is right before ballet. I don’t like Hebrew School that much. From, Lauren

Dear Friend, Hi I am Christian from Woodside School third grade and these are the things I do after school. I go to After School Program. I play a lot of games in After Care. I play soccer, football, basketball, wall ball, kickball, and baseball. In soccer we kicked butt. The score was 23 to 16.It was a close game. Football was a very close game. But we still won. It was 24 to 23. Basketball was hard. We win always. It was not a close game. The score was 20 to 16. It was awesome. Wall ball is a fun game. There is no score. You just have to get people out. One time I was in the final, with one of my friends, Matthew. It was so hard, I mean, like he is the best player at wall ball. He can get anybody out. He almost got me out. When he threw the ball, I dove to get the ball and I caught the ball. Kickball is a really fun game. In kickball you have to kick the ball when the pitcher rolls it. When you kick it you have to run to first base before someone throws it at you. If he gets to the base first you are out. The last thing to get you out is if someone in the field catches it in the air. The last one is baseball. You probably have played this game before? As I was saying baseball is fun too. It is exactly like kickball but you do not kick. You hold a bat and the pitcher throws the ball at the bat and you have to swing the bat and hit the ball. Oh!
