Arkansas – What Services Are Available Today

Adult DDTCS Services Adult Development is a facility based program providing specialized habilitation services to adults who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability. Qualifying adults must be between with a diploma or certificate of completion or age 21 or older.

Adult DDTCS Continued Adult Development may include pre- vocational services that prepare a person for employment. May NOT be job task oriented Only provided to those not expected to join general workforce with in 1 year.

ADULT DDTCS statistics Current numbers indicate there are over 6,500 adults who receive DDTCS services. There are at least 69 Adult DDTCS centers in the state. Not all provide pre-vocational services. (Map on next slide)

DDTCS FUNDS Current breakdown shows $ 168,399,658 is spent on DDTCS services in SFY – Children's Accounted for $129 Million – Leaving Adults with $39,399,658

Arkansas waiver Services HCBS waiver does provide an option for Supported Employment in a persons waiver plan. DDS Standards note that SE is designed for individuals for whom competitive employment at or above the minimum wage is unlikely or who, because of their disabilities, need intensive ongoing support to perform in a competitive work setting. Consist of paid employment in a variety of settings, particularly work sites in which individuals without disabilities are employed.

Arkansas Rehab Services sfy 2014 (june excluded) Employment Services Provided include: – Referrals to CRP’s (which are center based)for: Assessment (up to 10 days) – 266 Persons Received Work adjustment ( up to 60 days) – 178 Persons Received Extended services ( up to 120 days) – 114 Persons Received The goal after receiving these services is for successful placement which is 20 hours or more a week at minimum wage or better in an integrated work environment for at least 90 days. – 13 Successful placements

ARKANSAS REHAB SERVICES SFY 2014 (June Excluded) Supported Employment Services – Defined as competitive work in an integrated work setting for persons with the most significant disabilities for whom competitive employment has not traditionally occurred, and who because of the nature and severity of their disability, need ongoing support services in order to perform their job. – Requires at or above minimum wage – Requires at least 15 hours week.
