Robofest History Robofest is an annual autonomous robotics competition focusing on learning STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology and Math) for students. Robofest started in Michigan at Lawrence Tech University in 2000 by founder, Prof. CJ Chung, Robofest has grown multiple venues in the United States and several other countries. Robofest goals include: To inspire and motivate student interest in STEM To challenge and develop student STEM skills To maximize student learning by integrating STEM subjects through autonomous robotics To promote creativity and innovative thinking To recognize student achievement in STEM through robotics To build our future workforce To promote positive work ethics and teamwork Other points of interest: Robofest is the only robotics event tied to a technological university will be the 11th annual Robofest event

Robofest Hawai‘i Season 1: 2008 The Human Body and Robotics Exhibition event at Pearl Ridge Center Highlights: Kanoelani - Bowlingbot (studying the human hand) Momilani - The Human Eye Season 2: 2009 It Ain’t Easy Being Green Exhibition event at Pearl Ridge Center Featured Robosumo as the gaming competition Highlights: Exhibition - Rube Goldberg and Robotics doing a “Green” thing Gaming - Robosumo and energy conservation during a match

Exhibition: Competitive Key is to focus on creativity and innovation There is no main theme Senior division (10th to 12th grade) and junior division (5th to 9th grade) Waiver for lower grades are available

Cost $55 per team with a local fee of $20. Total cost is $75. Cheapest robotics event. Any other cost is on your own. For example, buying extra parts, sensors, kits, table, other applicable items.

Registration Mrs. Gayle Loui, Registrar and Volunteer Coordinator - Robofest, national, will open registration in September for coaches and November for teams. Date TBA.
