Terminology

Terminology Lumens- measurement of brightness. The higher the number the brighter the projector Lumens- measurement of brightness. Speaker Requirements

What do they require? What do they require? –Powerpoint? Mac or PC? Computer Audio? –Comfort monitor? Teleprompter? –Video playback? Which format- computer, DVD, DV-Cam, Beta, VHS –Microphone- podium, wireless, handheld, lavalier/lapel

Speaker requirements Talent Talent –Always ask for their technical rider –Should be researched and budgeted before signing talent –Most professional entertainers have riders including bands, magicians, comics, DJs, high profile keynote speakers

Sample DJ rider IMPORTANT! 1. The DJ booth should be firmly placed on a riser, as to give the public a proper view of the DJ. Booth or desk should have enough space to provide for VJ and carry VJ equipment (laptop) 2. The DJ should be sufficiently lighted, as well as all equipment and records. 3. The DJ booth should only be accessible to the DJ, VJ and organisation. 4. All equipment should be levelled. 5. The DJ booth should contain an extra table on hip-height for record bags with enough space for up to 4 record bags 6. The DJ booth and desk should be absolutely shock-free, preferably by using 2 x FREEFLOATERS for the turntables and sufficient space between public and DJ booth. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AUDIO, to be provided by promoter: 1. 2 x Technics SL 1200 or SL 1210 turntables with Stanton 680 or needles and cartridges of similar quality x PIONEER CDJ 1000 MK3 professional cd players 3. High quality mixer: Pioneer DJM 800 or a more recent version x freefloaters for the Technics turntables 5. 2 x powerful monitor loudspeakers, to be operated through the mixing desk. 6. Te height between placed turntables and the riser floor should be around 1 metre. 7. Monitors should – if applicable – be placed on standards and there should be enough space for up to 2 DJs to move between DJ desk, monitors and records table. 8. A (preferably wireless) MIKE for use by a possible MC. !! Please note that it is forbidden to record the DJ set without our explicit consent! TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS VIDEO, to be provided by promoter: - projector, minimum 3000 lumen; projector out: RCA, S-Video or VGA (we'll provide adaptor to connect to apple mac dvi) - projection screen(s), preferably 4:3 or 16:9 dimensions - visuals to be controlled from DJ / VJ desk or booth; not from lighting booth! If extension chords are necessary please let us know - visual check before gig to try out equipment and finetuning - lighting / video technician available for support at VJ-check or change-over
