Preparation is more important than Presentation

Analyze Your Audience Know its demographics and attitudes: age, gender, ethnicity, status Will the audience agree or disagree with your message? What might your audience reaction be to your talk? Effect of audience age, topic knowledge
Research Your Topic Locate research material: library, periodicals, abstracts, government reports, the Internet Remember to write it down: citing sources gives speaker credibility Practice explaining the material until YOU understand it Paraphrase as needed
