Huddersfield Research Review A journal to showcase the most significant research at the University of Huddersfield –including interviews with the authors of the most cited and/or downloaded articles in the Repository –together with an editorial overview by a senior researcher who will locate Huddersfield research within the broader national and international literature in the relevant fields and disciplines. –Endorsed by the University Research Committee in December 2011

New and additional journals Audit revealed a further 5 journals in existence 2 of these titles were loaded onto the HOAP platform –Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Research and Practice –RADAR New journals will be considered for publication by the Press

Huddersfield Open Access Publishing Next steps Social media –Implement SNEEP (Social Networking Extensions for EPrints) Advocacy –recommended that all Schools and Research Centres at Huddersfield identify and plan potential research journals that could be launched via the HOAP platform –recommended that a feasibility study is undertaken to investigate whether the model could be offered to local societies in the region

HOAP Toolkit Includes: –Moving to Open Access –Setting up the landing pages using EPrints –Workflows –Notes for contributors –Licence to publish –Setting up a new journal inspired by a presentation given by Damien Short at the launch event of sister JISC project, SAS Open JournalsSAS Open Journals

Personalised, adaptive RSS feeds based on the news feeds available at an institution EPrints Bazaar –Making the HOAP platform functionality available

Recommendations (2) Best practice guidelines –From the HOAP and SAS Open Journals Projects Workflows –Use the RIOJA toolkit to enable authors to deposit their articles directly into the system, which could then be peer reviewed, copy edited and published via a series of workflows –Use the outcomes of the EPICURE project to develop and make output available in PDF and XML versions resulting in dissemination through mobile devices Usage statistics

Usage Statistics UK RepositoryNet+ PIRUS2 has developed a costed prototype service that capable of creating, recording and consolidating usage statistics for individual articles using data from repositories and publishers IRUS-UK, part of UK RepositoryNet+ will provide COUNTER compliant statistics for repositories
