Disaster Recovery Program  $5.08 Billion HUD Funds to Mississippi in form of Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) in Aftermath of Katrina  Governor Allocated Approx. $640 Million for Water/wastewater Infrastructure  Funds Available in June 2007

Governor’s Directive to MDEQ  Develop Plan to Identify Water/Wastewater Infrastructure Needs in Five Counties  Enhancement and Not Repair  Address Needs in Growth Areas and Areas Less Vulnerable to Future Storms  Support Housing Needs and Economic Development  MDEQ Contracted with MSEG to Assist in Development of Plan  Plan Finalized in Jan. 2007
