The Bog visitor centre open Wed – Sun (10 – 5) March to Oct. Snailbeach is an old mining area with spoil heaps, mine shafts (blocked off) and visitor centre. Guided mine tours can be arranged. Nearest Dwelling: The Bog visitor centre (SY5 0NG), Pennerley Houses (SY5 0NB), Upper Vessons Farm (SY5 0SG), Snailbeach houses (SY5 0NZ) Nearest Vehicle Access: Track to ridge from Pennerley (landrover only). Location and Access/Egress: Take the A488 from Minsterly (south). Turn left at Ploxgreen, signed Snailbeach, parking approx 1 mile on the right. Continue along road until reach the turn on the left for Pennerley, coach drop on road (see map) or mini-bus access right up to the reservoir. Continue to the Bog Visitor Centre, car and coach park on right. Continue up to the Knoll’s car park.
