New Generation IP Camera Unique Sales Points
In 2012, First to Launch Hybrid Camera In 2006, First to Launch Embedded Video Analytics In 2009, First to implement H.264 into Surveillance Cameras In 2012, Sony announced IPELA ENGINE
What is “IPELA ENGINE”?
The “IPELA ENGINE” is the general term of Sony’s integrated signal processing system for high picture quality which combines the company’s unique signal processing and video analytics technologies. IPELA Engine is a key technology for the next generation camera.
Realizes the best ever picture quality by industry-first technologies The Best Image Sensor Sony proprietary image sensing technology Sony proprietary image processing technology The Best Signal Processing System Face Detection Industry first High Frame Rate XDNR Excellent noise reduction Industry first
Video Analytics Encoding Packetizing Image Sensor Noise Reduction Wide Dynamic Range Color Adjustment XDNR(excellent noise reduction) Tunes the contrast and corrects the tone for both light and dark areas through the combination of images taken at varying shutter speeds within a single frame. Makes Sony’s unique color reproduction which was adapted to various environments. Analyzes video images with Sony’s unique algorithm, and triggers an alarm based on user-defined rules. Encodes and packetizes video images with high performance processing at 60 frames/second. Detects and reduces the noise within a single frame, in addition to the reduction of noise from differential signals in the consecutive frames. High Frame Rate Video out
IPELA Engine won “Best CCTV Product 2012” Award −DETEKTOR international award was announced on 19 th Sep, 2012 at SKYDD exhibition (Security exhibition in Nordic) −Sony IPELA Engine won the “Best CCTV Product 2012” award, which is the 1 st prize of the CCTV category

VBR (Variable Bit Rate) /CBR (Constant Bit Rate) Maintain good image quality by supporting VBR. CBR VBR CBR VBR CBR Sony’s CBR mode works much better than Company A’s CBR mode.
VBR/CBR: What is VBR/CBR mode? ModePros and Cons VBR (Variable Bit Rate)Image quality is always stable regardless scene. Bit rate is variable by scene. Pros: Image quality is stable. Cons: Required storage varies by scene – hard to calculate. CBR (Constant Bit Rate)Bit rate is always stable. Image quality is variable by scene. Pros: Required storage is predictable – easy to calculate. Cons: Image quality varies by scene.
