Repairing of Building Services Engineering Systems Rak Repair Methods of Structures, exercise (4 cr) Esko Sistonen
Some basics... Demolition work from the top downwards; HVAC repair vice versa Ventilation: from negative pressure to overpressure Cleanliness of bag filter and heat exchanger: supply, exhaust, outside, and waste air duct Technical systems: ground loop heat pump systems,..
Some basics... Planning before repair action Header Sound absorber Cold (blue) and warm (red) water supply Sewer pipe Pipes (white) from boiler and ground loop heat pump Floor heating pipes Technical room
Water leak of wall sump Re-insulated water pipes Dirty exhaust outlet Water leak of storm water drainage from flat roof
Water shut off valves -> asbestos, mould District heating system
Water leak of cast iron drain pipe Heat distribution room Insulation groove in suspended ceiling Inspection panel of waste sump
Minor water leak of old drain pipe Water leak of hot water heating system
HVAC Repair Works duct work machinery installations insulation work terminal installation control and monitoring work non-sewers floor drains the heat distribution room pipe installation heating coil installation water and sewer fitments
Installation of lining hose into air shaft of natural ventilation From natural ventilation to exhaust ventilation
-Bathrooms made of metal plates -Repair of plastic drain pipes
Alternative water and sewer pipe repair methods *renewal of the whole piping system -requires the demolition work of structures (structures of channels) -takes-6mths – interference for users (water breaks, toilets, showers, common areas or containers) -dust, noise -the end product is known: the pipes are new *pipe coating -tube in tube coating with epoxy -fast – a bit interference (takes up only 2 days) -no noise -durability of app. 20 years of experience in Western Europe, for a longer time period -Insurance companies does not necessarily give an age reduction -the coating is also possible for a warm and cold water pipes
