Repeal of Residency Statute §36.27(2)(cr) Biennial Budget included a repeal of provision that provides exemption from nonresident tuition for a “person who is a citizen of a country other than U.S.” Students who begin classes in any term after 7/1/11 are not eligible for nonresident tuition exemption. Students previously granted exemption from nonresident tuition will no longer be eligible to receive the exemption.

Wisconsin-Minnesota Reciprocity WI residents will still be able to pay in-state tuition rates if they attend MN state university, college, or technical college Subsidy still available for students who enroll at MN campuses this year, but discontinued after school year More than 10,000 WI residents take advantage of tuition reciprocity program each year
