EECSRSB AS THE DESIGNATED AUTHORITY THE EECSRS BOARD IS THE DESIGNATED AUTHORITY FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE ESOS ACT IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA. THIS AUTHORITY DERIVES FROM :- THE ESOS ACT, PART 1, DIVISION 1, SECTION 7A (4) THE EECSRS ACT, PART 5, DIVISION 2, SECTION 49

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DESIGNATED AUTHORITY APPLICATIONS FOR REGISTRATION (1 ST TIME) REVIEWS FOR RENEWALS OF REGISTRATION QUERIES FROM SCHOOLS LIAISON WITH DEPT. OF EDUCATION IN CANBERRA (DoE) ATTENDING MULTI SECTOR MEETINGS MAINTAINING PROVIDER REGISTRATION AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (PRISMS) MULTI SECTOR REGISTRATIONS E.G. SCHOOLS THAT ARE ALSO RTOs LIAISON WITH OTHER REGULATORY AUTHORITIES

CRICOS THE COMMONWEALTH REGISTER OF INSTITUTIONS AND COURSES FOR OVERSEAS STUDENTS THE DESIGNATED AUTHORITY HAS RESPONSIBILITY TO RECOMMEND TO THE SECRETARY OF DoE THAT SCHOOLS SHOULD BE ENTERED ON THE CRICOS

CRICOS REGISTERED SCHOOLS IN SA 124 GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS ARE MANAGED BY INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION SERVICES (IES) AS A SINGLE REGISTERED ENTITY WITH MULTIPLE SUB-SITES AND 956 OS STUDENTS (at 23 Feb 2015) 50 NON-GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS IN SA ARE SEPARATELY CRICOS REGISTERED WITH 517 OS STUDENTS (IN 2014)

CULTURAL INTERACTIONS AND ENRICHMENT APPROX. INCOME = $65 MILLION pa. FLOW ON ENROLMENTS TO UNIVERSITIES AND RTOs WORD OF MOUTH ADVERTISING IN HOME COUNTRIES CONTRIBUTION TO AUSTRALIA’S GDP EMPLOYMENT BOOST TO EDUCATION SECTORS FLOW-ON REVENUE TO THE GENERAL COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR THE SA STRATEGIC PLAN BENEFITS OF OS STUDENT SCHOOLING IN SA

THE REGISTRATION RENEWAL PROCESS NORMAL TERM OF REG. = 5 YEARS CONDITIONS MAY BE IMPOSED BY EECSRSB REVIEWS MUST OCCUR BEFORE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RENEWAL CAN BE MADE A RISK MANAGEMENT APPROACH SHOULD BE USED FLEXIBILITY ABOUT SITE VISITS HAS BEEN ACCOMMODATED CSO ADVICE HAS ASSISTED IN GUIDING THE PROCESS E.G. PRIVACY ISSUES
