GED® Skill Workbooks Inventory and Study Planner T AKE I NVENTORY OF SKILLS Read the directions and encourage students to answer every question to the best of their abilities. You have permission to copy the answer grid for student use. Administer the inventory as an untimed test. The main purpose is to get an idea of knowledge gaps – both in content and skills. Explain that at the end of the test students will use the results to see what skills they need to focus on

GED® Skill Workbooks Inventory and Study Planner (cont’d) C HECK ANSWERS AND USE STUDY PLANNERS Students check answers and read explanations. Students fill in study planner to target both content skills and thinking skills needed to pass the GED Tests. T IP You can use the Study Planner results to both strategize which skills to focus on with the whole class and to work with students to make individualized study plans. Skill Review Lesson

L EFT P AGE Content Review Preview the 2-page lesson by reading the lesson title and the key topics (the subheads in the left column). R IGHT P AGE Practice Questions Explain that the GED-type questions ask them to do more than “look up” an answer. As on the actual test, questions require them to apply, analyze, or evaluate information. Students answer the questions, check answers and read explanations. Discuss questions that are difficult for students. GED ® Skill Workbooks Skill Review Lessons T IP Explain that the review lessons summarize key GED content. Encourage them to ask about terms or concepts that they don’t understand as they do the lessons.
