Introduction to Microsoft Office Excel 2007

 (* open excel and practice)  Using the mouse  Using keyboard keys

(*open excel budget on desktop and practice)  Click in the cell  Type text or numbers  Name worksheet  Save worksheet

(* use opened excel to practice formatting)  Use home tab to add columns or rows  Use home tab to delete columns or rows  Use home tab to format columns or rows  Use format menu to format columns or rows  Use format menu to format cells

(*open addition workbook )  All formulas start with an = sign  All formulas follow the order of mathematical operations:  Parentheses  Multiplication and Division  Addition and Subtraction

(*open simple formulas worksheet on desktop, use simple formula box )  Type in numbers  Click in the cells  Click and drag for range  Using autofill

 Always preview your worksheet  Add print preview to quick access toolbar  If you need to edit your worksheet, close print preview and then edit  Print directly from the print preview screen or from the print option  Print options

 Closing Workbook & keeping excel open  Click on the Microsoft Office button. Choose close.  Save changes if needed  Or click on the close button (the bottom X) in the upper right hand corner of the title bar  Exiting Excel  Click on the Microsoft Office button. Choose Exit excel.  Save changes if needed. The program will close automatically  Click on the close button (the top X)

 On the right hand side of the ribbon, there is a ? in a circle.  You may click on it and enter a search term or browse help topics.
