3 End of School Year Requirements Title I, Title I Carryover (using 2010 fund) & Title I ARRA Amendments – Current and Going Forward Extension Requests Request for Funds Final Financial Reports (FR1) Carryover – FY2012 (using 2011 funds)

4 Amendments Status of increase/decrease requests Next step – uploading approvals Line item changes still allowed for all grants until 30 days prior to the grants end date

5 Extension Requests Regular & ARRA Title I grants may be extended to September 30, 2011 with a request: –ARRA: must be done in the amendment form by filling in the justification box with the request and a brief rationale. Due May 31st –Title I: request to Due July 31st

6 Requesting Funds Details in ‘Appendix F’ ESE PowerPoint – dure/default.htmlhttp://finance1.doe.mass.edu/Grants/proce dure/default.html Claim Status Report – shows where districts stand on claiming their funds.

7 Final Financial Reports (FR1) Accessed through the Payment Request Center in the Security Portal Made available the day after your grant closes 60 days to submit Will be closed once the signed FR1 is received Changes can be done once submitted Unexpended funds must be returned

8 Carryover Available to districts that either did not claim all of their funds, did a decrease amendment in April, or have unexpended funds through their FR1; Allowed to carry over 15% of current year’s allocation (regular & ARRA combined). Waiver to exceed 15% available once every 3 years. Because of ARRA those districts that request a waiver this year (FY11) won’t have it counted against them. Process to claim these funds will be decided by September. Please stay tuned: –G3 or traditional Excel workbook

9 Common Questions Regarding Title I Grants Do Forms 1 and 2 need to be updated when an amendment is submitted? Do we need to provide rates for stipends and consultants? Do we need to send in a signed hard copy of the amendment? How long do amendments take to be approved/uploaded/mailed out?

10 Important Dates to Remember May 31: last day to request extension for Title I ARRA June: FY2012 allocations released Late June: –ARRA grant ends (6/30), unless extension approved –Applications available (G3 or Excel workbook) July: Prepare FY12 Title I grant application July 20-31: Last window to submit Payment Request payments (grants ending June 30 th or August 31 st ) July 29: –last day to request extension for regular Title I grant –line item amendments due for grants ending 8/31
