HEATHROW TRIALS An Overview.

Trial Purpose: To concentrate all departures into a few narrow corridors to: Reduce the pressures on air traffic controllers, and Reduce aircraft separation.

Impact on our area: Trial 1 Moves existing Midhurst westerly departure corridor westwards into our area. Forces all departures into our area, rather than being spread out over a wide area. Corridors spread is from just east of Sunningdale to just west of Heatherwood. Impacts most severe in Sunninghill, as affected by all 4 routes (2 from each runway).

Trial 1:

Impact on our Area: Trial 2 Area affected by changes to both the Southampton Departure Route and the Midhurst Departure Route. Existing Midhurst westerly departure corridor moved westwards into our area, affecting a zone between Ascot centre and Sunningdale centre. Existing Southampton DC moves significantly south and affects a corridor from W of Ascot to east of Sunninghill. Forces all departures into our area, rather than being spread out over a wide area. Impact is very severe.
