String Data – Early March (typical)

String Data – Early March (positive)

Lake Elsinore Benchmark Assessment Schedule

All original instruction is complete before spring break (March 26) Blueprint Assessments can be given in lieu of the Yellow Benchmark Assessments Grade Level/Subject teams must agree to which assessment to use Blueprint Assessments are administered the week before spring break (March 21-25) Some teams ask to give the assessments March 14-18) No testing of any kind is allowed after spring break, until STAR Data is scored and reports provided during the spring break Data is available in EADMS and reports provided via How LEUSD uses the Blueprint Assessments

Blueprint Assessments vs. Yellow Benchmarks

STAR Camp – Using Blueprint Assessment Data Teachers meet during spring break or on the Monday they return to plan STAR Camp Some sites request to test early so they can plan during the week before break Three weeks between spring break and STAR testing Match the specific students’ weaknesses with the teachers with the best strengths for those weaknesses. Teams focus on 1 or 2 standards at a time, 2 – 3 days Students are re-shuffled, based on Blueprint Assessment data for the new focus standards Focus standards are most heavily weighted, lowest performing standards Teachers also consider standards that can be reviewed in a shorter period of time Language Conventions, Writing Strategies, Number Sense, Algebra & Functions

Blueprint Assessment Planning and Logistics Start early Message is sent out during the Pink Benchmarks and teams have a week to let their principals know what they choose Some principals are contacted to work with specific teams Copies take a good amount of time to make LEUSD utilizes Form B of the Blueprint Assessments More difficult of the two assessment versions Most teams utilize Form A for review after the break All teams who give the Yellow Benchmarks utilize both Form A and B as instructional tools for review

All Grade 9 students take the CAHSEE Blueprint Assessments for ELA and Math while the Grade 10 students take CAHSEE in March High Schools administer the regular Yellow Benchmark Assessments March Results are published district-wide in a competitive manner Same reporting as the CAHSEE results – considered the “J.V Game” for the CAHSEE results Results of CAHSEE Blueprint are reported to current teachers for CST review Results are used in student placement for Grade 10 Teachers with specific strengths are matched with students with specific weaknesses Classes focus is in those areas to meet student needs Student strengths and weaknesses are matched within a class period Students can more easily move from one class to another without disrupting their schedule Students can move to a class focusing on their areas of specific weakness High Schools & Blueprint Assessments
