WHERETO Paragraph for our Service Design W Each of our guides provide a concise introduction that provides the direction of WHERE each of the lessons are headed and the purpose or WHY behind it. Additionally, the units will be provided to interested chapter leaders in an order that provides the chronological order of steps to make a new chapter from the New Chapter Coordinator. H By starting our service design with providing interested chapter leaders with the Facebook and Loft platform, we are quickly showing interested chapter leaders what their developed chapter could look like, which HOOKS the students in the beginning. We HOLD their attention in our guides by making them concise and to the point. E After speaking with the New Chapter Coordinator, we identified the key obstacles an interested chapter leader needs to overcome to meet their performance goal (starting a successful chapter). Our guides target those key obstacles which EQUIP students with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed. R Students will be able to RETHINK big ideas, REFLECT on progress, and REVISE their work by being prompted by the New Chapter Coordinator based on his/her feedback. E Students will be able to EVALUATE progress by receiving feedback from the Chapter Coordinator, and compare their own recruitment and activity experiences with the examples provided in our guides. T The guides are TAILORED to reflect each interested chapter leaders’ styles and needs by providing guidance to effectively recruit and lead the first activity while allowing the students to choose their own social media style, specific organizations to coordinate with, and the topic or problem to tackle in the Rethinking Communities activity. O The guides are ORGANIZED in their content to ensure clarity and optimize deep understanding as well as ORGANIZED chronologically to help portray the ideal journey to start a successful chapter.

Our service design consists of four guides and two virtual tools to assist the Roosevelt Institute New Chapter Coordinator in supporting individuals who are interesting in starting a new Roosevelt Institute chapter at his or her university. The four guides are (1) New Chapter Leaders Facebook and Loft usage guide, (2) Recruiting with Social Media guide, (3) Coordinating Recruitment with Competing Organizations guide, and (4) Rethinking Communities guide; the two virtual tools are (1) New Chapter Facebook group and (2) New Chapter Loft guide. Depicted in the Service Blueprint is the process in which our guides will interact with the New Chapter Coordinator and the new chapter leaders to help get a new chapter up and running. First, our first guide and two virtual tools will help interested chapter leaders connect to other leaders in order to access potentially valuable resources to help start their chapter. This access allows new chapter leaders to select resources that best fit to their needs and their organization from a variety of options. Once a new chapter leader is comfortable enough to pursue chapter creation, our second and third guides provide instructions to assist in the recruitment process. Our guides are designed in a way to provide more high- level instructions with variety of examples to allow for new chapter leaders to tailor their recruitment to their specific campus. Our last component of our service design is the last guide, which provides directions to implement a suggested first activity to hook new members into staying in the organization. Like our previous guides, this guide provides the steps to structure the activity while still allowing the chapter to tailor the content of the activity to their specific campus. The New Chapter Coordinator will be the main contact for the new chapter leaders and is available to provide additional feedback and resources to supplement our service design. Additionally, Roosevelt Institute’s website has an abundance of resources that can be leveraged to support the new chapter creation process. Introduction to our Service Blueprint
