44 The Massachusetts Tiered System of Support (MTSS) MTSS focuses on system structures and supports across the district, school, and classroom to meet the academic and non-academic needs of all students, including students with disabilities, English language learners, and students who have already demonstrated mastery of the concepts and skills being taught. Who are we?  Targeted assistance district  6000 students  High Needs is 49.8%  ELL is 8.2%  Low Income 39.4%  SPED 17.9%  Currently serve 3 elementary and 1 middle school  Reservation funds support two Level 2 schools and academic support grants fund supports at the Level 2 high school  Blended grant resources support all eligible students Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education 12

Tier I Core Instruction  All Students  Focus on differentiated instruction  Co-teaching model to decrease the ratio between students and teachers  Inclusion classrooms include both special education students and ELLs  Diagnostic and formative interim assessments  Progress monitoring within the data cycle includes action plans and re-teaching Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education 20
