Vocational Education Smith-Hughes Act 1917 Vocational education “provides equal opportunity for all to prepare for their lifework.” Employers rarely use information schools generate-grades and test scores-to pick employees. Why not? Hard-To-Assess Information Hard-To-Assess Information: How do interviews/grades tell me what I need to know about student skills? Relevant Information: Is the info we get from schools relevant to our specific work demands? Trusted Information: How can I trust teachers who, really, are trying to help the student, not my business?
