The Addie Model Instructional Design Albert Escobar

What is the ADDIE MODEL? This Models help us to visualize the problem, and break it into simple phases. The ADDIE model is the periodic table of instructional design. There are different forms of the ADDIE model but it generally consists of five phases.

The Five Phases of the ADDIE Model. Analysis-The instructional problem is clarified. Design-The design phase is what will be used to reach the goals. Development- The blueprint for the program to learn. Implementation-Method of delivery, and testing procedures. Evaluation- The feedback, pros and cons of the program.

Historical Overview ADDIE first appeared in It was created by the Center for Educational Technology at Florida State University for the U.S. Army. The last phase “evaluation and control” is shorten to “Evaluation” by the us army ADDIE is first used as an Acronym Schledgel 1995.

ADDIE includes 5 Phases ADDIE includes 5 Phases 1. Analysis 2. Design 3. Development 4. Implementation 5. Evaluation These phases all transition to the next phase and must complete each phase in order to fully benefit from the next phase. 1. Analysis 2. Design 3. Development 4. Implementation 5. Evaluation These phases all transition to the next phase and must complete each phase in order to fully benefit from the next phase.

Analysis During analysis, the designer identifies.  Learning problem  Goals  Objectives  Audience’s needs  Existing knowledge  Learning environment  Delivery options,  Timeline for the project.

Design The design phase deals with specific design. Detailed storyboards Prototypes Graphic design, Content determination Assessment instruments, Exercises Subject matter analysis, Lesson planning Media selection.

Development In the developmental phase is were… Content is assemble and created Storyboards are created Content is written Graphics are designed E-learning is applied Integrate technology

Implementation During implementation, the plan is to.. Put into action training program Materials are distributed to students Effectiveness of the training Course curriculum Learning outcome Method of delivery Testing procedures

Evaluation The evaluation phase consists of two parts formative and summative. 1. Formative evaluation is present in each stage of the ADDIE process. 2. Summative evaluation consists of tests designed for feedback from the users. 3. Revisions are made from the feedback received. 4. Rapid prototyping (continual feedback) has also been used improve the ADDIE model.

Summary The ADDIE MODEL..  The ADDIE is the core for Instructional Design  The five phases include 1. Analysis 2. Design 3. Development 4. Implementation 5. Evaluation  The ADDIE Model is design to create a format for success in instructional design.
