VISION STATEMENT Our vision is that healthcare decision-making throughout the world will be informed by high-quality, timely research evidence 1.RECOMMENDATION: The Vision Statement is left unchanged. 2.DECISION REQUIRED: Do you agree? YES/NO. If ‘No’, what changes would you make? Describe them here: 1

MISSION STATEMENT The Cochrane Collaboration is an international organisation that aims to help people make well-informed decisions about healthcare by preparing, maintaining and promoting the accessibility of systematic reviews of the effects of healthcare interventions 1.RECOMMENDATION: The Mission Statement is revised. The existing statement is tightly focused and well written, but it begs the question as to whether it is too tightly focused around ‘preparing, maintaining and promoting the accessibility of systematic reviews’ given the Collaboration’s ambitions and its potential wider role in promoting evidence-based healthcare decision-making. 2.DECISION REQUIRED: Do you agree? YES/NO. If ‘Yes’, what changes would you make? Feel free to be bold and radical – all ideas are welcome. Use the next slide to record your ideas. 2

CHANGES TO THE MISSION STATEMENT: 3

STRATEGIC GOAL 3 A new Strategic Goal on external focus 1.RECOMMENDATION: A new goal is developed specifically addressing our ambitions for our place and profile in the world. Cochrane should be the ‘go-to’ place for evidence-based healthcare information. 2.DECISION REQUIRED: Do you agree? YES/NO. If ‘Yes’, what might the scope of this goal be? Exact wording is unimportant, focus instead on what you want the goal to achieve. Do you see any tensions between this goal and the other Strategic Goals? Use the next slide to record your ideas. 4

SCOPE OF GOAL 3: 5

Do you think the five proposed Strategic Goals are sufficient, or should there be more, fewer, or different ones entirely? What other comments do you have about the goals? Record your ideas below. 6

STRATEGIC GOAL 3 A new Strategic Goal on external focus 1.TASK: Develop some Strategic Priorities for Strategic Goal 3. These might specify advocacy, and external affairs positioning; the geographical reach and international policy influence of the organization; capacity- building for the spread of evidence-based healthcare, etc. Exact working is unimportant, focus instead on what you would like the priority to achieve. 2.YOUR SUGGESTED STRATEGIC PRIORITIES FOR GOAL 3: 7

YOUR SUGGESTED STRATEGIC PRIORITIES FOR GOAL 3 (CONTINUED): 8
