6 Accessing Item UF Maintenance 4 Access to Item UF Maintenance is via the same standard menu options 4 Available wherever DMAS item maintenance has been available
7 Return to Item Master Summary Accessing Item UF Maintenance Item UF maintenance is accessible via any standard DMAS item maintenance menu option The user enters Item UFM by taking any available item maintenance menu option If the command line is available to the user, the UITEM command may also be used.
8 Work with Items 4 The initial Work with Items screen displays a list of existing items 4 User options available to allow user to go directly to any detail item maintenance screen 4 Additional options allow user, for a given item, to go directly to –Item inquiry –Item Relationship maintenance –Work with Bins maintenance –I/O Item Cross Reference maintenance –I/O Item Features & Options maintenance –I/O Manufactured Items maintenance

10 The status of the item record, the item’s description, and the item type is displayed Existing items are listed in item number sequence The list of displayed items may be limited by using the selection fields Work with Items The initial Work with Items screen is a list of all existing items (view 1) Four additional alternate views of this screen may be viewed by pressing the function key. Return to Item Master Summary F11=Alt view F11=Alt view
11 Work with Items View 2 – Displays additional basic item and vendor and/or manufacturer information General item class, sub-class and fine line data is displayed All 10 user item codes are displayed and may be individually selected for search The primary vendor number and manufacturer is displayed and may be used for selection The back order code for each listed item is displayed
12 Work with Items View 3 – Displays general item pricing information The list price, list price U/M, price multiplier, and price divisor are displayed, if any The catch weight code and average weight are displayed Container charge, broken case surcharge and Fed Excise Tax are displayed, if any The tax code for each listed item is displayed
13 Work with Items View 4 – Displays fields describing the item’s physical characteristics The thickness, width length cubes, size, color and style fields are displayed A code is displayed identifying if this item is subject to any warranty information The MSDS code is displayed as well as the G/L Distribution code for each item
14 Work with Items View 5 – Displays 3 of the possible 11 synonym fields The specific synonym fields that display are determined by the user. Return to Work with Items The user determines the column headings that display for each synonym field Selecting which fields display Changing a column heading
15 Selecting Synonym Fields 4 To select which synonym fields display on alternate view 5 –Place the cursor into the input capable synonym number field or the synonym selection field in the column for which you want to select a different synonym –Then press function key F4 –The Item F/M Synonym Field Desc window (W930) will then display
16 Selecting Synonym Fields Select a listed synonym field or Page Down for additional selections Select the desired synonym field by using option 1 on the line of the synonym field that you wan to display on the list screen Then press the Enter key Return to Alternate View 5
17 Changing Synonym Heading 4 To change the heading for synonym fields that display on alternate view 5 –Place the cursor into any input capable synonym number field or any synonym selection field –Then press function key F4 –The Item F/M Synonym Field Desc window (W930) will then display
18 Changing Synonym Headings Select the synonym field number for which you want to change the column heading Select the desired synonym field by using option 2 on the line of the synonym field that you want to change Then press the Enter key
19 Changing Synonym Headings Change the text for the field prompt “Desc” The text following the field prompt of “Desc” is the text that appears as the column heading Return to Alternate View 5 Key the text that you want to appear as the column heading for this synonym field Then press the Enter key
20 Finding Items 4 Entry capable line for sub-setting the list to include only desired items, such as –Item numbers starting with specific characters –A specific item type –Items whose description fields contain a specific character string –All item records that have a specific status 4 Multiple selection fields may be used at the same time to further limit the displayed list of qualifying items 4 A function key to utilize standard DMAS item search
21 Finding Items Displaying all items of a specific item type This selection shows a group of items that are all kit parent items
22 Finding Items Displaying items that all have at least one substitution item For this field, the user may use either “Y” or “S” to find all items that have at least on item substitution
23 Finding Items Displaying items that all have the characters “CABLE” anywhere in their item descriptions Searching for descriptions that “contain” a specific character string To search for only those items whose description field starts with “CABLE”, the user would key “CABLE*” (adding an asterisk to the end of the search string)
24 Finding Items Displaying all items that have a quantity multiplier (QMULT) of 24 The search could have been for a specific stocking unit of measure or a specific alternate unit of measure
25 Finding Items Displaying all items that have an “N” as the value in each item’s second user item field The selection could have been for a combination of more than one user item code
26 Finding Items Displaying all items that are catch weight items The selection character could have been either “W” or “Y”
27 Finding Items Displaying all items that have the color “RED” in their color field The selection could have been for more than one field
28 Finding Items Displaying all items that have the characters “GIF” anywhere within their synonym 11 field The ability to search synonym fields may be of significant help to I/O e-DMAS Web Order Entry users
29 Finding Items Selecting items using multiple selection fields Using multiple selection fields can greatly reduce the number of items displayed Return to Item Master Summary This selection displays only those items that are in item class 10 AND item sub-class 01 AND fine line group 0001 AND the first user item code is equal to “A” AND have primary vendors of 2240
30 Subset List (item) 4 The subset list function provides –Similar selection abilities as the Work with Items selection line –The ability to select items using the same fields as available on the 5 alternate views but all listed on two screens –Provides the ability to also use Range Selection for certain fields –Designates which fields are subject to “equals to”, “contains”, and/or “begins with” selection
31 Subset List (item) Page 1 of the Subset Item Records screen An asterisk (*) indicates that a selection may be either a “contains” or “begins with” selection Fields with “range” selection capabilities are listed with a second input capable field A “begins with” selection is a selection character string keyed and followed immediately by an asterisk (*), i.e.”CABLE*”
32 Subset List (item) Page 2 of the Subset Items Records screen A field with range selection with the second input capable field left blank is the same as a single “equals” selection Specific synonym fields may be selected by using function key F4 or by keying the synonym field number When all selections are made (on both pages if necessary) the selection is made by pressing the Enter key Return to Item Master Summary
33 Adding a New Item 4 When adding a new item by keying, a window is displayed requesting the item number of the item to be added 4 The user then navigates through the five standard DMAS item detail entry screens, keying the appropriate item data on each screen 4 Most DMAS item detail screens have not changed by this enhancement

40 Maintaining Existing Items 4 The user selects which item AND which of the detail screens for that item to maintain 4 Once maintaining an item, the user may navigate through ALL details screens for the item if desired (as with the previous DMAS item maintenance)

48 Maintaining Existing Items The Work with Bin Locations Maintenance function is initiated Return to Maintain Existing Items If an option of “B” was used for item 1019, the Work with Bin Locations maintenance screen is displayed with item 1019 entered as a selection The remainder of work with bin location maintenance is not shown at this time

50 Maintaining Existing Items The Item Features & Options Maintenance function is initiated Return to Maintain Existing Items If an option of “F” was used for item 1022, the Work with Item Feature maintenance screen is displayed with item 1022 positioned at the top of the list The above “Item Feature Maintenance” screen is displayed only if the proper I/O Item Features & Options enhancement is installed The remainder of item feature maintenance is not shown at this time

52 Copying an Item 4 A new item may be created by copying an existing item 4 Inventory quantities and sales statistics are not copied 4 The user may optionally also copy –The Item Balance records –Item Relationship records –I/O Feature & Options records –Vendor / Item records
53 Copying an Item The user may create a new item by copying an existing item The user enters the item number of the new item Return to Item Master Summary The user may optionally copy records from one or more of the listed secondary item files
54 Suspending an Item 4 Item master records continue to be suspended as they were with standard DMAS item maintenance 4 Disabling and reactivating an item also continues to be done as it has in the past Return to Item Master Summary
