Laughing makes us healthy „Laughter is the best medicine”

The Laughing Club of India by Dr. Madan Kataria

The Hahota Klub in Budapest

Theory: the ability to laugh is born with us

Different styles of laughing and their affects on us: loosen inhibitions boost self-confidence help to get rid of stress good for breathing help to give up smoking alleviate hypertension, arthritis and migraine

Stressful situation as a dry desert

Laughter comes along as an oasis

A few kinds of laughter 1. „introducing laughing” 2. „opening laughing” (Ho ho ha ha ha) 3. „arguing laughing” 4. „bashful laughing” 5. „forgiving laughing” 6. „lion laughing”

Healing laughter Laughing: 200 times burns off the same amount of calories as 10 minutes on a rowing machine blood plessure drops to a lower, healthier level relaxes your muscels works out your major internal systems like the cardiovascular and respiratory ones

Effects of emotions on health The relationship between body and mind negative or pessimistic attitudes → negative impact positive or optimistic attitudes → positive impact

Dealing with emotions What you can do: -confront the emotions -keep a journal -introspect - find the core reason

Some questions you could ask yourself when you are writing in your journal: What am I feeling? When did it start? How am I feeling? What were the triggers for this emotion? What images come to mind as I feel it? When else have I felt it? Is it familiar or new? What would I like to say to the person/event/myself?

Thank you for your attention
