Boston Tea PartyBoston Tea Party  The Boston Tea Party was a result of the Tea Act  Although the Tea Act lowered the price of tea the colonists didn’t like it because the British where still taxing them without representation and it gave the East India Company a monopoly over there tea.  Because of this a group of patriots in Boston dressed up as Indians and threw the tea over board.

The Intolerable ActsThe Intolerable Acts  The intolerable acts where designed to punish Boston for the tea party. The bill said that Boston Harbor would be closed until all of the lost tea was paid for. It also put Mass. government under British control. Many colonists saw the Acts as a violation of, their natural rights, and their colonial charters. They therefore viewed the acts as a threat to the liberties of all of British America, not just Massachusetts
