This picture is from a Protestant book called Foxe’s Book of Martyrs. A martyr is someone who dies for their beliefs. The men being burnt at the stake are Latimer and Ridley who are Protestants. They are being executed on the orders of Mary 1 (also known as Bloody Mary) because she wants England to be a Catholic country. She believes these men are heretics who will go to Hell. This evidence may be biased
