14. Days of Revival

This is an initiative based on the principle: that spirituality is the basis of faithfulness. Spiritual Christians are those who later become faithful stewards, in all aspects. The case of Job provides the Biblical foundation of this principle. The author of the book and God Himself give faith of Job’s faithfulness three times: in Job 1:1, 8; Job 2:3 In the three opportunities it is emphasized that Job was “blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.” Where did such extraordinary faithfulness come from?

For God to say of one of His children that he is blameless, upright, God-fearing and shunned evil, is something simply fantastic. To understand this just imagine that He says that about you. What brought about such faithfulness in Job? It came from a practice that in Job it became a habit: “Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering.” That is to say; very early in the morning, when the sun had not come up yet, Job would get up to look for God through a relationship of sacrifice. “This was Job’s custom.” (Job 1:5)

Why Days of Revival? Because it is: “”The greatest and most urgent of all our needs”. (Selected Messages, Vol. 1, p. 121). It is a fact that our needs are many, but only one is the “greatest and most urgent of all.” Be revived by His Spirit Days of Revival is the answer to this imperative need. With the addition that it will produce stewards who are blameless, upright, God- fearing and shunned away from evil.

What Does the Plan Consist of? In three power meetings with ALL the brethren of the local church in the territory of the local field. The attendance to the weeks of prayer is poor. This is why, instead of seven days, we will take the church members to the temple only one day: THREE TOUCHES OF POWER. The secret is in taking all of them to the temple. How? It will be explained later on. Which day? Sabbath! Friday night, Sabbath morning and Sabbath afternoon.

The Key to the Success of the Program Each church member arrives at the temple having made a covenant. (In this Instructive the Individual Covenant is provided and should be reproduced to take to the brethren and have them sign it.) The secret to achieve the above is through church member visitation in their homes. There will be two visits before the weekend where Days of Revival will be celebrated. The Visitation Committee is in charge of the visits. One week prior to the Days of Revival, all the local church members will have already made a covenant. The visitation to the brethren and the signing of the Individual Covenants should begin nine weeks prior to the weekend when the Days of Revival will be celebrated and should conclude one week before said celebration.

A Strategic Element One month before beginning visitation to the homes, the district pastor begins a series of four meetings, one per week, with the Stewardship and Finance Committee and the Visitation Committee of that district. Each meeting should not be longer than two hours, so it should be carefully planned. Ideally, the meetings are to be celebrated on Sunday. The plan does not function if the district pastor and his committee members do not involve themselves 100 percent.

The planning and implementation of this initiative takes a complete quarter distributed as follows: a. Four weeks in which the instructions will be given on how to prepare the members of both committees. b. Eight weeks to conduct the two visits required by the initiative, the first one to fulfill a spiritual purpose, and the second one for the signing and endorsement of the individual Covenant. c. One week prior to when the celebration of the Days of Revival will begin.
