La chenille qui fait des trous. Ilay fanday noana be. The very hungry caterpillar. Eric Carle

In the light of the moon, a little egg lay on a leaf.

Indray alahady, niposaka ny masoandro dia POP! Nisy fanday kely dia kely nivoaka avy tao amin’ilay atody. Noana be izy io. One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and- POP! – out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar. Avy hatrany izy dia lasa nitady sakafo. He started to look for some food.

Le lundi, elle croque dans une pomme. Elle y fait un trou. Mais elle a encore faim. Ny alatsinainy, nanaikitra paoma iray izy. Nolavahany. Fa mbola noana ihany izy. On Monday, he ate through one apple. But he was still hungry. Le mardi, elle croque dans deux poires. Elle y fait deux trous. Mais elle a encore faim. Ny talata, nanaikitra poara roa izy. Nolavahany. Fa mbola noana ihany izy. On Tuesday, he ate through two pears, but he was still hungry.

Le mercredi, elle croque dans trois prunes. Elle y fait trois trous. Mais elle a encore faim. Ny alarobia, nanaikitra paiso telo izy. Nolavahany. Fa mbola noana ihany izy. On Wednesday, he ate through three plums. But he was still hungry. Le Jeudi, elle croque dans quatre fraises. Elle y fait quatre trous. Mais elle a encore faim. Ny alakamisy, nanaikitra firezy efatra izy. Nolavahany. Fa mbola noana ihany izy. On Thursday, he ate through four strawberies, but he was still hungry.

Nolavahany. Fa mbola naona ihany izy. On Friday, he ate trhough five oranges, but he was still hungry. On Saturday he ate through one piece of chocolate cake, one ice cream cone, one pickle, one slice of swiss cheese, one slice of salami, …

Narary ny kibony ny alin’iny. … one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and a slice of watermelon. That night he had a stomachache!

Ny ampitson’iny, alahady indray ny andro. Nanaikitra ravinkazo maitso tsara tarehy ilay fanday dia nahatsiaro netinety. The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar ate through one nice leaf, and after that he felt better.

Tsy naona intsony mihitsy izy izao. Saingy tsy fanday kely intsony koa izy. Fa lasa fanday ngeza sy matavy. Now, he wasn’t hungry anymore – and he wasn’t a little caterpillar any more. He was a big, fat, caterpilar.

Nanamboatra trano- fanday kely izy nanodidina azy. Tapa-bolana taty aoriana, nony notatahany ilay tranony mba hivoahany... He built a small house, called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks. Then he nibbed a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out and...

... Elle est devenue un superbe papillon!... Lasa lolo tsara tarehy be izy!... He was a beutifull butterfly!
