THE PERSONAL WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIVES Romans 8

1. He is called the Spirit of life who is involved in setting us free. (Verse 2) “because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” 2. The Holy spirit has desires for us. (Verse 5) “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.” THE PERSONAL WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIVES – Bro. 3. He is the Spirit that gives life and peace. (Verse 6) “ The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” 4. The Spirit helps us control our sinful nature. (V.9) “You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. 9. The Spirit speaks to our human spirits. (Verse 16) “ The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” 10. The Spirit helps us with our weaknesses. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
