WALKING IN GRACE: CHRIST, OUR LIFE

Review

Humanism is the worst heresy in the present day church.

To show grace is to extend favor or kindness to one who doesn’t deserve it, who can never earn it and who can never repay it.

There is nothing you can do to make God love you less and nothing you can do to make God love you more.

“Without faith it is impossible to please God.”

Is your walk of discipleship made up of you trying to do things for Christ?

or in allowing Christ to do things IN and THROUGH you?

To be in Jesus is not only an outward profession, but also an inward change of heart and indwelling of His Holy Spirit.

We are no longer slaves to sin.

2 Peter 1:2-4

Verse 2 “May you know more and more of grace and peace as your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord grows deeper.” (Phillips)

2 Peter 3:18 “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Verse 3 “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our

knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”

If Jesus wants us to walk on water, move a mountain, overcome temptation, forgive someone, show love to our enemy

or lead a person to know Christ, we can be sure He has already given us ALL we need to do it.

GOAL The GOAL is that we obtain eternal life and become like Christ.

SOURCE The SOURCE of this eternal life and godliness is divine power.

MEANS The MEANS by which this power produces this life and godliness is through knowledge of God,

which teaches us His promises to guide us out of sin and into an obedient walk with Him.

Verse 4 “Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you

may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”

This knowledge empowers us with the strength to be liberated from sin and also to share in the divine nature.

Before you can walk the walk of grace you must:

Come to the end of your self-sufficiency either on your own or with God’s help.

Thank God for His grace by which you have been saved and made able to live the Christian life.

Empty yourself of everything in your life and then ask God to fill you with what HE desires for you to have.

Ask the Holy Spirit daily to take control of your life and transform you into whom you ought to BE and help you do what you ought to DO.

Let Christ be in charge of your life through prayer, Bible study and meditation.

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS EASY IF YOU LET CHRIST BE IN CHARGE.

Matthew 11: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from me,

for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Notice that the rest and easy burden comes ONLY to those who put the yoke of Jesus upon them.

Jesus is the only one able to direct a human body perfectly in the life that the Father has planned.

The Spirit is like your personal spirit trainer.
