Main Components Core Value Mission Vision Strategy

Core Values Core Value

Core Values Dependence on God Core Value

Core Values Dependence on God Core Value Dependence on God: OMF Japan affirms that all that we attempt to accomplish in ministry is based upon a firm reliance on the promises and resources of God, and that living in prayer and faith are crucial to us. Our conviction is that our ministries are God’s and not our own, and that we have been given the privilege of participating in the establishment of His kingdom in Japan.

Core Values Dependence on God Effective Ministry Core Value

Core Values Dependence on God Effective Ministry Core Value Effective Ministry We affirm that we are most effective when we seek what God desires for us to accomplish, and when we faithfully do our ministry in God ’ s way and in His strength. Our desire is to serve God in a way that our resources are used to maximum capacity with an emphasis on innovation and creativity.

Core Values Dependence on God Effective Ministry TeamworkCore Value

Core Values Dependence on God Effective Ministry TeamworkCore Value Teamwork: We recognize that God has called us to be a part of His body, and that no one has all the gifts required for effective ministry. Therefore, we seek to work together as missionaries, national workers and church members in developing and using our gifts. This calls us to value methods which are transferable and which motivate and equip for ministry.

Core Values Dependence on God Effective Ministry Teamwork Multiplication Core Value

Core Values Dependence on God Effective Ministry Teamwork Multiplication Core Value Multiplication: We are committed to churches planting churches. To this end we emphasize the training of disciples and leaders.

Core Values Dependence on God Effective Ministry Teamwork Multiplication Member care development

Core Values Dependence on God Effective Ministry Teamwork Multiplication Member care development Member care and development: We believe that as Fellowship members we must care for each other. As we serve the church in Japan together, field leadership seeks to encourage mutual ministry to one another, giving attention to pastoral care, personal growth and professional development.

Plant reproducing churches Japan is one of the least reached people groups of the world with less than 1% Christian population. There continues to be a huge need to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore we come alongside the Japanese church in evangelism, discipleship and church planting to meet this need. OMF starts churches, usually in cooperation with the Japan Evangelical Church Association (JECA), in both urban and rural areas. As we do this, we impart a church planting vision to the new groups of believers. In order to truly see multiplication we emphasize the training, equipping and mobilizing of lay leaders. Strategy

Plant reproducing churches Initiating strategic church starts Co-operating in starting daughter churches that will reproduce Empowering lay people for ministry Mobilizing believers for cross cultural mission Strategy

3. Serve and encourage the national church OMF missionaries value personal and organizational fellowship with pastors and other missionaries in Japan. This mutual encouragement and vision-sharing builds relationships in Christ. Because the task of reaching communities for Christ is so great, Japanese pastors often invite missionaries to help with evangelism and training. OMFers with suitable gifts and calling may be sent to work in established national churches.

3. Serve and encourage the national church Fellowship with Japanese pastors Train and mentor Japanese Christians for leadership Assist Japanese churches toward growth and reproduction Network with other Christian organizations
