We originally came up with two different Idea’s then combined them into one to make everyone happy with the final idea. We had an idea of a mystery character in a mask following a girl while we effected the mood by adding children's singing to it creating a creepy era. We then had another idea of a murder while chasing the suspect around certain area’s of Brighton showing off different camera skills making it into a crime thriller. We then decided to combine this, the thriller we have chosen is an upbeat start following a drugged up girl watching her as she has visions of a person in a mask. We have different camera shorts including a time lapse adding a sense of reality to the opening sequence and adding mystery. We decided to shoot this opening sequence in stammer woods wear we can get a lot of shadows and different lightings making it more effective through out. The tree’s also effective as we will focus a camera shot on birds flying in the sky for the feeling of emptiness and lost. We chose this idea as we think it would be an amazing begging to a film and could create a lot of feelings and tension in the vital three minutes that are needed. Emily Hemmings

We were influenced by a series called “A mother son” its starts with a girl running away from someone and she has been stabbed you don’t see what she’s running away from or who chasing her but when she then falls down and you see her die’s you can see the shadow of a mysterious figure. This influenced me because I liked the mix of mystery and also the way it makes the audience feel as if they are running away from something as well this makes the opening scene thrilling and gives the audience a feeling as If they are running away from something. Another film that influenced me try this sub-genre was the film “Shrooms” as its set in the woods and I liked the use of hallucination for the audience to question if they are imagining or it is happening. Although this film is a horror it has many features that we can use for are thriller. Joe Irvine

At the beginning of the Opening Title Sequences, we will do a time lapse of the woods, taken in the morning so we can get the shadows casted by the rising sun (the credits will roll through-out). This will be a wide shot, and after it finishes, our character will run/stagger on-screen, and move across to off-screen: revealing a part of the credits behind her. This will cut to a shot of the trees, with birds flying off after being disturbed, adding to the eerie atmosphere and create a feeling of emptiness. Next, an extreme close-up of the girl’s eyes, where she is constantly looking around and her dark make-up is running. This makes the audience think she is the victim and would start to sympathise with her. Then a close-up focusing on the ground, where her feet will run past. This would emphasise her shoes (building up her character) and that she is running. We will film the next shot with our cameraman climbing up a tree to get an over-head shot where he will pan under, to get her running under the camera. A P.O.V will be next, and to do this we will use a head camera (showing narrative). A tracking shot of her arms whilst running and another P.O.V shot follow. Afterward, a medium shot will show her tripping up on a root. Then a P.O.V shot of her actually falling will lead to a P.O.V of her looking up at the antagonist, wearing a plain white mask. This shot will be blurry, with an effect where it looks like she is blinking. The filming will be done so it’s like she’s falling into unconsciousness. The mask man will keep getting closer and closer until she black out, leaving a black screen. At the end, we will have a time lapse again, but this time of the sun setting, making way for the title of the film. Mise En Scene Setting/location Stanmer Park woods is perfect for our setting because it would fit right in with our thriller film. As it’s quite big and not many people go there, there won’t be a problem with continuity or any filming difficulties. Also, it’s accessible and nearby, just in case we need to re-shoot. Props Only prop used is the man’s mask. Figure expression Girl will be scared, so she will be constantly looking around, acting nervous and breathing heavily. The man will reveal none of his emotions because of his mask. Lighting/colour The time lapses are done at certain times of the day where the lighting is significant : darkness transforming into light and lots of shadows. At this time of year, the leaves will be range of autumn colours, and will have fallen to the ground. These colours are bright and happy and ordinary, but to bring an edge to it, the ground will also be extremely muddy, and wet with lots of puddles, which will make the girls clothes dirty. The main characters for the opening title sequence are the mysterious character that is chasing a scared girl. The costumes for the character that is chasing the girl will be a full black costume/ robe with a plain white mask and the girls costume will be casual every day clothes. The girl will be running away frightened from the mysterious character that is chasing her and she will trip over and there will be a blured figure walking towards her getting closer and closer then the opening titles will end.
