CampusNet Amazonia Telematics Network looks at interiorization of Amazonian universities through distance education and e-health / telemedicine programs Purpose

To endow the Northern Region Brazilian universities of infrastructure and technological resources, besides development of human capital, to implement teaching, research and outreach through telematics resources. General Objective

Why Federal Universities? Very important role in urban activities Even higher interaction with rural population

To set up a network of Multimedia Resource Centers (MRC) in branch campuses of the universities Specific Objectives

To make available information services and multimedia communication in branch campuses of the universities Specific Objectives

To produce and make available software and other resources for distance education and e-health in branch campuses of the Brazilian Amazonian federal universities. Specific Objectives

To build a regional backbone connecting initially all six federal universities, and later on other institutions offering internet and video conferencing services. Goal

To build a network connecting all branch campuses of each university in each State making available internet and videoconferencing services. Tasks

To build MRCs to produce and distribute software and resources for DE and e-health. Tasks
