ORGANISMS An individual form of life. There are many organisms that live in a pond.

DIRECTLY Straight. The sign showed how to directly get to the park.

AFFECT To cause a change in something or someone. Lack of gravity will have the affect of causing one to float in space.

TRACES A very small amount. The man swept up traces of dirt on the floor.

VAST Very great in area; huge. The desert was a vast, hot land.

HABITATS The place where a plant or an animal naturally lives. A rainforest is an example of the many habitats on Earth.

VARIETY A number of different things within the same group or category. A grocery store has a variety of food.

SPECIES A group of animals or plants that are similar and are able to mate and have offspring. There are many species of dogs.
