Path planning error in game Battle for Middle Earth (LOTR) City wall Too big creatures try to move too big things Turning around, walking through wall parts and “hovering” Jessica Siewert, , MCRS assignment 1, May 2011

How is this happening? Moving around in a tiny graph? Coming to the conclusion they can’t go there. No (or bad) collision checking with the wall. Why do they place ‘m up there anyway?

How could we solve it? Make the creatures (and the thing) smaller Forbid them to turn around as much Make them do something else than running away Check graph (or other structure) for path length. No path to go? Fight.
