The Tropical Rainforest By Abby Stevenson Ellie Prorock Alejandra Rodriguez and Shelbie Edgington By Abby Stevenson Ellie Prorok Shelbie Edgington Alex Rodriguez

Here is where the Tropical Rainforests all over the world are located.

Rain falls 250 cm per year. Temperature rarely gets over 93 F.

One of the many Daintree Rainforest animals, is the Brush Turkey Red. The skin hanging from it’s neck is called a wattle.

Here is another animal, the Saltwater Crocodile. The Saltwater Crocodile is known for it’s needle sharp teeth.

The Victoria’s riffle bird, known for it’s teal stripes. Named after Queen Victoria.

In the photo is the Amethyst Python; commonly found in rainforests in Australia. Amethyst Python’s can be twenty eight feet long.

Commonly found in a rainforest is the Rhino Beetle. Rhino Beetles are 3 ½ They’re the strongest known animal, can carry 850 times their weight.

Here is another popular animal known as the Slender Loris. It’s endangered; but it shouldn’t be because it’s SO CUTE!

Here is the Idiot Fruit; one of the most primitive plants. It is also one of the most rarest plants in the globe.

The blue Quandong is covered in slender curved leaves. It grows 117 feet tall.

The Wild Ginger is known for growing nineteen feet high. When cut at bottom of stem, water gushes out.

A flowing vine found no where else in the world but the Daintree rainforest. At first smell sweet; but then like gross rotten fish.

Roughly 4 levels of the food pyramid. Level one: Plankton, larvae or spiders. Level two: Plankton and insect eaters. Level three: Bigger carnivores such as crocodiles. Level four: Such as dingoes and snakes.

Commonly found in Rainforests all across the globe are swamps. Where you can find crocodiles or fish. Anacondas are known for living by swamps, or high above their waters.

Rainforest trees are so strong, they can grow up the side of mountains and not fall. A closed canopy of trees covers 70% of the sky.

Rainforest Plateaus are another great way for keeping animals safe and away from harms way. Also good for tourists! One disadvantage? Rain fall is high. And when it does fall, it plummets flooding the lakes.

People have lived in the rainforest for thousands of years learning how to thrive away from society. Indigenous villages are abandoned old villages where people lived. Because they live in the rainforest only 15% of the citizens will not get harmed or seriously injured by animal.

Canopy’s are now more used as a tourist attraction but birds still make their homes above. Using bridges for Canopy’s to guide them around. The Canopy is the highest of seven layers.

Here are all the natural resources Passion fruit Papaya Breadfruit Bamboo Jute/hemp Mahogany Rosewood Oils used in perfume and shampoo
