Toucan There are about 40 different types of toucans They have colorful, lightweight bills They are very noisy birds Toucans are about 7in-2 feet in size When they sleep they tuck their bills under their wings and tail They are very important to the rainforest because they help move seeds around!

Spider Monkey Spider monkeys are very large- the adults can grow up to almost two feet They use their tails as an extra limb They like to hang upside down, holding onto limbs of trees They often spend their time high up in trees to find fruits and seed to eat Spider monkeys are heavily hunted and are in danger of becoming extinct

Sloth Sloths are extremely slow moving mammals found in Central and South America There are two species: two-toed and three-toed Some stay in trees for years Sloths are nocturnal They sleep upside down and can live up to thirty years!

Macaw Macaws are the largest of all parrots There are 16 different species and they range in size from one foot to a little over three feet They have tails which are longer than their bodies Macaws are very social and intelligent animals They are on the endangered species list because of their low numbers due to rainforest destruction

Tree Snail Tree snails usually travel along the forest floors among fallen leaves They are nocturnal Although it is nocturnal, it can be found any time and it hibernates at any time Commonly found in rainforests and lowlands They are on the endangered species list because of their habitats, pesticides and deforestation

Poison Arrow Frog Poison arrow frogs are social frogs found in Central and South America They are known by their bright colors which warn other animals that they are poisonous Its poison is very powerful and known to cause paralysis or death One frog carries enough poison to kill 100 people They are about the size of one inch Though they have a lot of poison, they are usually harmless if they are left alone

Boa Constrictor Most boa constrictors live in Mexico, Central and South America They feed on birds, small rodents and lizards Boa constrictors average on size from 6 to 14 feet They easily blend into their surroundings with their camouflaged skin Boa constrictors are non poisonous

Morpho Butterfly The morpho butterfly gets its name from its bright blue body with black edged wings Usually the morpho butterfly spends most of its time on the rainforest floor Their lifespan is only 115 days Due to its colors, when it flies it looks like the morpho butterfly is disappearing and appearing The morpho butterfly is extremely threatened by deforestation
