Outreach to Veterans Support Partners: The Brothers of Charity; Archdiocese of Washington Departments of Special Needs, Charity and Justice & Evangelization and Family Life

Overview Three current projects in the Archdiocese of Washington:  Brothers of Charity  Georgetown Academy (Fr. Rick Curry, SJ)  Archdiocese Support for Active Duty Military Families and DC/Metro Veterans

The Need Joining Forces- is a national initiative by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden that mobilizes all sectors of society to give our service members and their families that opportunities and support they have earned. Bethesda Naval/ Veterans Hospital- Supporting families and Wounded Warriors at our local hospitals from out of town feel sustained/embraced through their time here. Redeemer House- The Brothers of Charity living in Community with 8-12 homeless Vets.

The Scope of Proposed Project The Brothers of Charity, in collaboration with The Archdiocese Department of Special Needs, supported by funds sought through the White House Office of Veterans and Wounded Warrior Policy, wish to create an outreach for transition housing for homeless vets. YOU!!!!- How could YOU organize to help Military Families and Veterans in YOUR area/parish?  What supports would you wish to suggest?

Networking Other Faith Based Initiatives that serve Active Military and their families, as well as Vets. Vets who are now parishioners in ADW Parishes. Joining Forces Brothers of Charity Community Services supporting Military Families and Vets
