Idaho System For Educational Excellence Welcome

Timeline for Idaho In 2008, the Idaho Legislature appropriated $2.5 million In 2009, the state received a $6 million federal grant In 2010, the federal stimulus package passed. Idaho didn’t receive additional federal funds for longitudinal data, but did receive new requirements

Federal Requirements In accepting federal stimulus dollars, Idaho had to commit to implementing the statewide longitudinal data system by September 2011 We were already heading down this path, but now are working on a quicker timeline to meet federal requirements

Successes So Far 129 out of 148 districts and public charter schools have participated in trial uploads Example of Success: New Plymouth School District

Frequently Asked Questions Is the state gathering more data than it has in the past? –Yes, but only because there are new federal requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions Is Idaho requiring more than state and federal laws require? –No. We are only collecting what is required by state and federal laws.

Frequently Asked Questions My district didn’t apply for the sub-grant. Do we still have to upload data? –Yes. All school districts and public charter schools must follow the same requirements. We have been flexible with districts in awarding sub-grants past the deadline to better assist in the uploads. You can still apply for the sub-grant.

Frequently Asked Questions Can we still use IBEDS next year? –No. IBEDS will no longer exist. All districts and charters must use the new data collection systems put in place.

Technical Assistance from SDE Working with the vendors –Student Information Systems, HR vendors, Finance vendors –Most vendors have been responsive and made the necessary changes –Some vendors are rolling out new updates in next few weeks
