Areas of critical shortages: Those who have a provisional or a conditional license in an area of critical shortage and are working towards full endorsement in that area are eligible for $1,000 extra reimbursement. Staff requesting additional funding must file applications for scholarships between June 1 st and June 30 th of each year. Contact the HR Staff Development Coordinator for application components at

Areas of critical shortages:  Special education (emotionally disturbed and learning disabled)  Mathematics  Foreign Language (Latin and German)  Science (Physics, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physical Science, Biology)

Areas of critical shortages: In each case, the agreement shall contain a provision for a pro-rate reimbursement to the School Board of the monies received if the teacher does not complete the endorsement within three (3) years of receiving the initial monies.

Areas of critical shortages: Areas of critical teaching shortage are determined by Hanover County with guidance from the state department but not all inclusive of the state list.

Areas of critical shortages: To be eligible for these extra monies for a two year time-frame, the teacher must have at least six (6) semester hours toward the specific requirements established by the Virginia Board of Education to meet the endorsement, and …

Areas of critical shortages: You must agree to teach for a specified period of time in the Hanover County Public Schools after endorsement requirements are met.

Areas of critical shortages: These time frames are:  A teacher who receives additional tuition reimbursement monies totaling $1,500 to $2,000 will sign an agreement to teach in Hanover for three (3) years following completion of the endorsement.

Areas of critical shortages:  A teacher who receives additional tuition reimbursement monies totaling $1,000 to $1,500 will sign an agreement to teach in Hanover for two (2) years following completion of the endorsement.

Areas of critical shortages: 3. A teacher who receives additional tuition reimbursement monies totaling $500 to $1,000 will sign an agreement to teach in Hanover for one (1) year following completion of the endorsement.

Areas of critical shortages: This extra $1,000 applies to teachers only and is not available to support staff who are seeking a licensure.

Areas of critical shortages: The extra $1,000 is not available to a teacher who is already licensed in one of these fields but decides to go back to take some additional coursework unless their five-year plan denotes that they are getting licensed in a new area of critical shortage.
