Could YOUR business survive if…. Each year on July 1…Each year on July 1… –It replaced its corporate CEO, half its corporate Board of Directors, and all of its regional managers…with untested leaders?

Could YOUR business survive if… Each year on July 1… –It replaced all of its local managers with only the bare minimum of training –It assumed that they had enough previous knowledge and training do the job effectively?

Could YOUR business survive if… Each year on July 1… –It expected these new local managers to train their own support personnel to meet new and different corporate objectives? AND yet…

It also expected corporate performance to improve every year over the previous year with –improved revenue –increased participation in corporate programs –greater achievement of corporate goals

Rotary International, Of course, this “company” is Rotary International, including its various clubs, districts, and zones 532 Districts 33,000+ Clubs 34 Zones 17 Directors

What do you think would happen if we ran our OWN businesses like we run Rotary? So, how can the Rotary Leadership Institute help?

What is the Rotary Leadership Institute? –RLI is a series of fast-paced, interactive, one-day courses offered to refine a Rotarian's leadership skills and increase their base of knowledge in Rotary. – Courses are fun, topical, and geared toward active business and professional persons who want to be more effective leaders in their vocation and club and more knowledgeable Rotarians.

Why is RLI so vital to Rotary’s future? –RLI and the knowledge it provides its graduates is the key to the future success of your own Rotary club and of Rotary

How long does RLI take? –RLI is a three-part program Each part takes one day to complete Each Rotary district usually conducts two to three RLIs each year. –Rotarians may wish to travel to nearby Rotary districts to complete the three-part curriculum in a shorter period of time.

What does RLI cost? –Tuition is $95.00 for each of the three parts, which includes: All materials Site costs Breakfast, lunch and breaks Administrative costs

Who pays? –Your club honors your “Rotary potential” by choosing you to attend –Many clubs will reimburse their members for all or some of the tuition

So, who should attend RLI? –“Up-and-coming” Rotarians – those that club leaders perceive as the “future” of their club and of Rotary –Club leaders who have been elected but have not yet taken office –ALL Rotarians who are excited about being part of Rotary’s potential for good

When should a Rotarian attend RLI? –When the club and the Rotarian want to know more about Rotary beyond the club –the “up-and-coming” Rotarian leader is usually recognized by his/her club and ready for RLI within the first 2-3 years; and often sooner

The RLI Curriculum RLI Part I –Characteristics of a Good Leader –Rotary Beyond the Club –Membership Retention –Introduction to The Rotary Foundation –Communication Skills –Creating a Service Project

The RLI Curriculum RLI Part II –Analyzing a Rotary Club –Team Building –Ethics & Vocational Service –The Rotary Foundation - Part II –Leadership – Planning – Membership Development

The RLI Curriculum RLI Part III –International Service –Effective Leadership Strategies –Rotary Opportunities –Rotary Public Relations –Making a Differenc

Time to Learn, Time to Lead! Who benefits from RLI? –Your club benefits, future leaders benefit, and the entire Rotary organization becomes more effective So…EVERYBODY wins!
