Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) Program

What is a HRA? A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) is an account funded by Troy University health insurance premiums that will reimburse you for eligible medical expenses not otherwise insured. You are eligible to receive benefits in your second plan year of Troy University health insurance. You are eligible to receive benefits in your second plan year of Troy University health insurance. How Does It Work? It’s easy! To earn HRA funds, a beginning balance of $1,500 for family coverage or $750 for single coverage is reduced by your claims paid during your first year on the health plan. Each time a covered employee or dependent has a prescription filled, visits the emergency room, or visits a physician, the portion paid by the Troy University Health Insurance Plan reduces your HRA balance. New employees or employees enrolling in the Troy University health plan after January 1 st of each year will have their HRA contribution prorated based on the number of months remaining in that year. Plan Highlights Employees are eligible in their second plan year of the Troy University health insurance plan.
