Found in all fungal and plant cells in some animal cells. Maintaining a balance between biogenesis (production) and degradation in cell structures The vacuoles maintain fluids, removes wastes, stores ingested food, and maintains cellular structure.

Main function is structural support Maintains hydrostatic pressure Also stores water

The food vacuoles undergoes fusion with lysomes. Maintains pH values.

Acts like a skeleton to maintain turgid conditions
