The Louisiana Purchase By Julia, Charlie,and Darrel

When did it happen? Robert Livingston and James Monroe signed the Louisiana Purchase in Paris on April 30, They paid 15 million dollars for part of designs for democracy. Kansas is known as the Sunflower State. Missouri is called the Show Me State because its people have a peputation for believing only what they see.

What states were in the Louisiana Purchase? The 13 states that were part of the Louisiana Purchase are Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Wyoming.

In 1803, France sold over 900,00 square miles west of the Mississippi River to the United States for 15 million, which is an average of 4 cents an acre.

This new addition made the USA one of the largest geographic nation in the world and showed the growing power of the nation. In the world and showed the growing power of the nation.

The Louisiana territory had been given to Spain by France in 1762 after forty years of Spanish rule. The Spanish were willing to give the territory back to pay off some of its depts.
