Fun fact The longest boxing match in history was in Louisiana. It lasted for over 7 hours!

Another fun fact Almost all the crayfish in the world are from Louisiana that you eat!

Famous people There are 2 famous people in Louisiana. One of them is Jerry Lee Lewis. The second person is Louis Armstrong.

Happenings In 1803 France sold it’s land in Louisiana to America. In 1812 Louisiana became the 18th state in America. 1795 A new way is found to make sugar from the sugarcane plant. 1812 The first steamboat rolls down the Mississippi River to Louisiana. 1901 The first oil well in Louisiana is drilled. 1975 The world’s largest indoor stadium opens in New Orleans. 1861 Louisiana secedes from the United states.
