Why?  Model the professional role  Advise, give moral support and build confidence  Furnish a relatively objective assessment of strengths and weaknesses

How?  Identify Mentor for each of the participants of the Induction Programmes  Conduct an Orientation Workshop for the Mentors  Mentor-Mentee Pairing  Identify a Group Coordinator for a team of 8-10 Mentors  Identify a Chief Mentor

DAE ATI – MENTORING MODEL

Roles and Responsibilities  Mentor –  Interact regularly with the Mentees and provide all support for overall and continued professional development of the mentees  Evaluation and Feedback  Reporting and Review with Group Coordinator / Chief Mentor  Remedial Steps

Roles and Responsibilities  Group Coordinator  Facilitate interaction among a team of Mentors and share experiences.  Provide necessary support and guidance for effective implementation of the mentoring process by the Mentors  Discussions with mentors on Remedial Steps  Obtaining feedback on remedial action  Reporting and Review with Chief Mentor

Roles and Responsibilities  Chief Mentor  Overall coordination of the mentoring activities  Link between ATI and the Group Coordinator, Mentors and Mentees  Networking among mentors of various programmes  Organise periodical seminars / workshops for evaluation as well as future planning  Guidance to Mentors and Mentees from time to time (Before, During and After Mentoring)

Confidence  Once all village people decided to pray for rain. On the day of prayer all people gathered and only one boy came with an umbrella that's Confidence.. A Mentor should be able to earn the confidence of the mentee

Trust  Trust should be like the feeling of a one year old baby when you throw him in the air, he laughs.....because he knows you will catch him.... that's Trust.. Mutual Trust is a must For Successful Mentoring
