Financial Aid Support to Mathematics and Science Teacher Candidates Promote financial aid opportunities through: -General information sessions/workshops -FAFSA-on-the-Web Workshops -Website advertising -Informational brochures in the Teacher Recruitment & Retention Office Increase scholarship opportunities: -Collaborate with campus scholarship office to increase access to teacher education scholarships -Explore outside scholarship opportunities Ex: Noche de Beccas, a community-based Hispanic scholarship organization will support the MSTI Project by awarding Future Teacher Scholarships to Math and Science Teacher Candidates
Advertising Professional Publications: Develop a comprehensive Teacher Education Advertising Campaign focusing on careers in Mathematics and science teaching Collaborate with University communications and outreach experts to develop professional publications and informational resources that highlight math and science teacher education programs and careers in teaching Work with outreach staff to distribute brochures at recruitment events and site visits to service area high schools and community colleges
Advertising Public Service Advertising Campaign: Develop PSA’s with local radio stations/cable channels to promote math and science programs/careers in teaching and contact information Create announcements for regional newspapers to run articles promoting math and science programs/careers in teaching, financial aid incentives, support services and contact information Highlight the achievements of CSU Stanislaus mathematics and science teacher candidates who have succeeded despite significant hardships to appeal to prospective students
Advertising Website Advertising: Develop a website for prospective students Website will feature: –Interactive page that enables prospective students to correspond with faculty advisors and project staff –Contact information –CSET testing and examination preparation information –A link to the FAFSA website ( to support students in submitting the application on-line –A link to the APLE loan forgiveness and other financial aid programs –Important dates, deadlines, etc.
Enrollment Services Support Work with Enrollment Management (EM) to: Utilize CSU Stanislaus EM Technology to identify students interested in mathematics and science programs Tailor webpage to provide specific information on programs in mathematics and science Assist prospective students to create a personal VIP webpage where MSTI can answer specific questions Develop prospective student database for future communications
