Preparation for Accreditation Choose an Accreditation Body Download and soak in their Guidance Documents Build, implement system, apply resources, BUT… AB’s cannot CONSULT Consider with ANAB optional : Planning Visit (usually 1 day) Practice Assessment (same as AA visit plan) Can include training courses 5
Planning Visit One day but can be requested to be longer Typically done after the Document Review and includes review of DR issues Includes review of key technical issues Uncertainty Metrological Traceability Proficiency Testing Audit of one method witnessing Any other requested auditing or questions 6
Practice Assessment Same length and depth as Accreditation visit Covers full accreditation scope and requirements of the ISO standard Issues a report and informs of all findings Does NOT include or involve corrective action process Alternative to a “gap assessment” Assessor(s) from Practice Assessment will NOT be the same as Accreditation Assessment 7
